In a competitive industry like real estate, standing out takes more than strong sales – it takes vision, consistency and a team that’s all in. 

Perth-based agency, Realestate 88, was recently recognised as the Residential Sales Team of the Year at the 2025 National Awards for Excellence (NAFE). 

We asked founding Director and Licensee, Jasmyn Wright, where her journey began and what it takes to build a high-performing, award-winning team. 

When (and why) did you establish Realestate 88?

Over 25 years ago my late husband, Peter and I sold our first home. At the time we were both working and thriving in entirely different industries, but that sale became pivotal when we realised how much better the experience could have been. 

Peter knew all those years ago that we could set a much high standard for the industry, and as time (and this award) have proven, we did. Driven by his deep entrepreneurial spirit, self-belief and relentless pursuit of excellence, together we founded Realestate 88 to deliver better service, communication, strategy and results. That bold decision quickly turned into a shared passion and lifelong commitment to raising the bar. It hasn’t always been easy, but I haven’t looked back. 

What was your ambition for the agency as it grew?

Our goal has never been to be the biggest agency, but to be the best at what we do and to have a real impact – on our people and our clients. What started as a spontaneous venture has grown into a purpose-driven career where I get to help people through one of life’s biggest transitions and nurture the next generation of property industry talent. Realestate 88 has become so much more than just a job for me, it’s become my legacy.

How did it feel to win the award at NAFE?

National recognition is something that we have always quietly worked toward – not for the spotlight, but to hold ourselves to the highest standard. To be recognised as the best agency in the country is incredibly humbling. This award reflects years of hard work and commitment to excellence. It acknowledges the passion and professionalism of the entire Realestate 88 team and it’s an appreciative nod to our clients who continue to place their trust in us. 

Peter was our founder, leader and the heart of the business and his passing in late 2023 had an immense impact on us all. I was incredibly proud and emotional to accept this award in his honour – more than recognition, it pays tribute to where our journey began and celebrates every individual who showed unwavering strength and resilience in turning up, delivering excellence and supporting one another, even in grief.

How do you keep up with an industry that’s always changing?

Leadership is about setting direction, building trust, and giving people the tools and skills they need to do what is expected of them. As real estate is an industry that never stands still, to meet and exceed the expectations of clients we can never stop learning. And as leaders we must be prepared to continually invest in the growth and development of our team. 

We work largely with REIWA Training to meet our CPD requirements as we find the trainers knowledgeable and engaging. Outside of formal training, we stay across market research and read the business, real estate and other industry news. As often as we can we put respected industry leaders in front of our team, giving them the opportunity to connect with and learn from the best of the best. 

What three words would clients use to describe you?  

I really hope my clients would say that I’m: 

  • Authentic in the way I communicate and genuinely care about their needs
  • Committed to achieving the best possible outcome for them no matter the challenge; and
  • Exceptional in the level of service, knowledge, and integrity I bring to every engagement. 

What do you love about selling property in Perth’s inner suburbs?

There’s something special about Perth’s inner suburbs – the vibrancy, character and sense of community that each pocket offers. No two properties are the same and every sale tells its own story. Having built deep local knowledge over the years, I take pride in not just selling homes but selling the lifestyle and long-term value of joining these thriving communities. It’s a privilege to represent such a dynamic part of Perth and to play a role in shaping its future, one property at a time.
